Telstra: Connected Communities

Background: At Hogarth Australia, we created a charitable donation mechanic called Connected Communities, which allowed locals to submit local charities to a portal and an in-store iPad application. The goal was to empower communities by allowing them to vote on which charity was most deserving.

Key Features:

• Voting Mechanic: Developed a voting system for over 120 Telstra retail stores, enabling users to cast their votes for the most deserving charity.
• Voting Collection System: Created a system to collect and aggregate votes from each store, ensuring accurate and efficient counting.
• Charity Nomination System: Designed a portal for users to nominate local charities, making it easy for communities to submit their favourite organisations.

Tech:

• PhoneGap/Apache Cordova: Built the in-store iPad application using Phonegap/Apache Cordova, allowing for seamless development and deployment across multiple platforms.
• Angular.js Website: Created an Angular.js-based website for charity submissions, providing a user-friendly interface for users to nominate their favorite charities.
• Node.js Backend: Utilised Node as the backend technology to manage retailer votes, ensuring efficient data processing and storage.
